What is MD changer?

Mini DISC changer (MD changer) comes standard or as an optional equipment on some Lexus vehicle outside of US. Some Radio are produced for both European and US markets, this is the reason why some of the Lexus vehicles do support MD changer in their Radios. MD-changer is neither standard nor optional equipment in the US; therefore it can't be ordered or upgraded. There are NO cars in US that use mini disc changer, therefore neither Lexus or Lexus dealerships know about this.

What is the Radio integrated into Navigation Screen?

If you control all of your radio functionality through your Navigation Display with a touch screen, including your AM, FM, Tape, CD/CD changer then your Radio is integrated into Navigation screen. If your Navigation screen doesn't allow you to control your Radio, then SoundLinQ will not add this functionality.

What is the warranty and return policy?

Warranty for all of our products is one year for parts and labor. Return policy is 30 days from the shipping date.

What is the good location for the unit?

VAIS Technology strongly recommends to install unit in easy accessible place. So you can easily remove it from your car in case of:

software upgrade, VAIS Technology constantly changes software, adding new features, improving operation, and etc.
incorrect unit operation set up. (Please see manual "Emulation Mode Programming")
unit failure

What iPod™ generations does SoundLinQ SLI support?

SoundLinQ SLI supports iPod™ mini, iPod™ Nano, 4G, and 5G (Video) iPod™. SLI does not support software versions prior to iPod™ update 2004-04-28 (iPod™ mini).

It takes too long to switch between channels on XM Radio.

You in a poor reception area or XM tuner is updating channel information.

Incorrect text information is displayed while using XM Radio.

XM Tuner provide incorrect information. Please turn tittle OFF and then turn it ON to get updated information. It will only display the information correctly if you reception is strong and stable.

I experience sound level to be too high and the music sounds distorted.

You need to turn "Sound Check" ON in iPod™ menu "Settings" (for SoundLinQ SLI only). You can also adjust sound level on the SoundLinQ. (please see manual for instructions)

How do I pause the iPod™?

iPod™ will pause automatically if you select another source or just turn your Radio off. It will resume on the same song and the same time as it was paused. iPod™ will not pause automatically if SLI is switched to SIMPLE MODE.

What is SIMPLE Mode?

SoundLinQ SLI can be set up in SIMPLE Mode (Please see the manual). In SIMPLE mode iPod™ is not controlled through the Radio, all the control goes back to the iPod™. No information will be displayed on your Radio. In SIMPLE Mode only, iPod™ will not turn off when the Radio is off or switched to different source, you have to turn it off manually.

What is SLI?

SoundLinQ SLI is iPod™ interface with additional AUX input.

What is SLX?

SoundLinQ SLX is XM Radio interface with additional AUX input.

What can use AUX input for?

It's RCA input, so you can use it for any Audio source, including Satellite Radio, MP3 player and etc.

Do you provide instruction on how to disassemble my the dashboard?

No we do not provide any instruction for disassembling the dashboard, we only provide instructions on how to install and program the unit. You can create an account and buy documentation from techinfo.toyota.com

Do I have to create the playlists and why?

SoundLinQ SLI emulates CD or MD changer, and your car audio recognizes playlists as a CDs and songs in the playlist as the songs on the CD. So you do have to set up playlists in order for SLI to operate. SLI supports up to 99 playlist and up to 99 songs in playlist.

Do you sell Terk® XMDirect™ Universal Tuner box (XMD1000)?

No we do not sell Terk® XMDirect™ Universal Tuner box (XMD1000), you can buy it in any retail store. The package includes antenna and universal tuner.

Can I controll iPod™ and XM Satellite Radio at the same time?

SoundLinQ SLXI is in the development, please check our website for release date.

Do you offer a Video solution for my car?

Video products are under redesign and VAIS Technology is planning to release it in Summer 2007. Please check our website for updates.
