Thumbs up Add me to the list

I am very interested in this product getting made.
I just bought an 08 Civic Coupe with the Navigation system and really want to be able to replace XM with Sirius.

Question Christmas Gift?

I bought an '07 Honda Civic in September. Plan is to put Sirius radio into it. Research on the web led me to you and a competitor I won't name.

I've been viewing the requests for timing and the responses. In final tests in June, post progress shortly in July, September SL2VI iPod first and then Honda interface, in the works near the end in October.

I would like to make this a Christmas gift. Can you advise me whether I am overly optomistic or on the right track?

Default Not available 'till mid-December

I just got off the phone with Directed Electronics (1-800-876-0800) and they said the HON-SC1 will not be available until around mid december. They could not give me a price either.

I'll be filling in this form to try and get them to contact me when the product is available:

Default Beach Audio

I just placed an order with BeachAudio.com for the HON-SC1 & the SCC1 for $145 shipped to my door.

http://search.beachaudio.com/search?...stom&w=hon-sc1

It does show as out of stock:

However I made the purchase and added a comment to ship when they come in.

Default Confused, a little help please

I have a 08 EX but no XM radio installed. My question, if I buy these parts from Directed can I just hook them in and then get Sirius? Or will I also need to get the XM option installed first to work with the Directed components? Thanksfor any info!!

I am assuming that you have a Civic EX which has an XM ready radio. Check your radio buttons on your dash, you should see a "XM" button. If so you are going to need the HON-SC1 and SCC1. So do not purchase the XM tuner from Honda, you will not need it!

The EX Civics are XM ready but the add-on factory tuner is an XM unit. This is why you'll need the 2 Directed devices. The SCC1 tuner to acquire the Sirius Sat signal and the HON-SC1 interface. The combination of these 2 devices will allow you to control the Sirius tuner using the factory XM radio functions.

This additional tuner is what we've all been waiting for. It's the key to using the factory radio functions to control the Sirius Tuner. As soon as I get mine delivered I'll post a how-to on the install...

Webman, thanks much for the response. I do not have a XM button but I do have a AUX button. Reading in the Civic owner's manual, the AUX button activates the XM if you have the XM add on tuner. What kind of car will you be installing your system into? I was able to find some on-line instructions for installing the XM option in my Civic, so this will be a good guide on how to pull off dash panels. Thanks again for the info.

I have a Civic as well, I'll be installing it into my 2007 Honda Civic SI. What info did you find online in regards to removing the panels? Care to share that link?
